Jack Puskar
Principal Attorney
John Puskar ("Jack" to his friends) was born and raised in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Jack's father, grandfather and great-grandfather were hardworking men who dedicated their lives to hard work and their families. Jack was the first in this line of fine Puskar men not to work in a mill or mine. Rather, on the advice of his father, he pursued higher education.
Never forgetting the work ethic instilled to him by both of his parents, Jack graduated from Summit University in Clarks Summit Pennsylvania in 1999, believing at the time it was his vocation to enter the ministry. Jack served a Reformed Baptist congregation in northeast Pennsylvania for seven years until he decided that the ministry really wasn't for him. He learned a lot during those times, however, gaining tremendous insight into the spiritual and emotional needs of his parishioners.
After leaving the ministry, Jack returned to his roots in Pittsburgh and graduated from Pitt Law School in 2010. During his time as a student, Jack interned and worked for the Allegheny County District Attorney, a federal civil rights' lawyer, a wills/trusts/estates lawyer and the University of Pittsburgh Office of Student Conduct.
During his time at Pitt, Jack also interned at Southwest Pennsylvania Legal Services (Legal Aid) in Washington County, and with the Allegheny County Pro Se Motions Program. In both of these internships, Jack worked one-on-one with indigent clients on matters of divorce, custody, support and protection from abuse (PFA), providing legal help free of charge.
Upon graduating from Pitt in 2010, Jack served for a time as a paralegal with a workers' compensation management firm, helping them explore expansion of their practice in many other states and the legal requirements pertaining thereto. Once he passed the Pennsylvania Bar on his first try, Jack was offered a position at a prestigious family law firm in Pittsburgh, where he served faithfully until May, 2012.
In May, 2012, Jack decided to start his own practice. Jack is dedicated to providing excellent service to his clients. He accepts modest means and pro bono assignments as referred through the Washington County Bar Association, and offers discounts to union members and military veterans. Jack is active in the Father's Rights movement, advocating for shared parenting when best for the children.
Jack served as court-appointed counsel for indigent criminal clients through the Conflicts' Counsel program in Washington County, PA for two years, and is past President of the Criminal Law Section of the Washington County Bar Association. Jack is also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and serves as a counsel member of his local church. He is also active in the Sons of the American Legion, Post #276.
Jack has a loving wife who has been his constant companion and helper in establishing his practice. He also has five children and two stepchildren.
Jack is eager to help YOU with your legal problems and make the process as painless and user-friendly as possible!
